Mount Gilead High School Alumni Art Show

May 24 [Sat] : 2-5 pm : MGHS Auditeria

This show will allow the community to explore works created by MGHS alumni after graduation, whether those alumni continued their education in the arts or not. This reception will provide networking opportunities for the participants as well as provide a location allowing alumni to sell their work.

Submissions will be accepted from any MGHS alumni of any age and occupation. The works may be in any medium, of any size, and completed at any time after graduating from MGHS.

There will be a nonrefundable $5 charge for the first 3 submissions from each participant and $3 for each subsequent submission. If more works are submitted than can physically be displayed, a neutral group of judges will select the pieces that will be displayed.

The submission fees will fund prizes for the judges' selection for best two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces, the work voted viewer's choice, and the participant chosen for overall best in show. The remaining fees will be donated to the MGHS Art Department.

Each submission must be matted, framed, or wired and ready for display when submitted. Each submission also needs to include an entry card to be displayed with each piece. These tags need to be 2.5 x 2.5 inches with a quarter-inch margin, on white card stock, and in double-spaced 12 pt Helvetica regular. Information should appear in this order: Title, Medium and Year Completed, Name and Graduation Year, Occupation, and Sale Price (or NFS). Submissions will be accepted up until Wednesday, May 21. Submissions may be dropped off or sent to MGHS Alumni Art Show, 304 West High Street, Mt. Gilead, 43338. Submissions that are sent in are mailed at the participant's risk. Accidents do happen: if a sculpture is too fragile, the participant may need to consider taking this risk. If submissions need to be mailed back to the participant, that participant must include safe packaging and return postage with the submission.
