There is a limit of six people per site, for cases of families with several children this rule may be waived by park management.
A campsite may not contain more than: one tent or tents having a maximum floor space of 200 sq ft (You must stay within your camping area and cannot exceed the limit of six persons per site).
NOTICE! Only the new Golden Buckeye cards will be accepted! The new cards are plastic (like a credit card) and have a bar code on the back along with the Golden Buckeye number. If you have not received your new Golden Buckeye card in the mail, please visit your local library or senior citizen center to have one issued.
Sunday - Thursday is 50% off regular camping. Friday and Saturday is 10% off regular camping. You must have your Golden Buckeye card number on your registration card or the discount cannot be given.
A Golden Buckeye cardholder can only get a discount on the site they are occupying and cannot be used by or for someone else. The holder of the Golden Buckeye Card is the only one entitled to a discount under their own number.
Sites 20-37 and 40-60 are designated for pet camping. There is a limit of two pets per site. Pets will not be permitted on campsites other than those specified, and are not allowed in the cabins or on the cabin sites.

Shelter Houses may be reserved. Reservation fee is NON REFUNDABLE.

We begin taking reservations for shelters the first working day of January. Call Delaware State Park for reservations prior to June first of that year. After June 1st you may call Mt. Gilead State Park at 419-946-1961 for shelter reservations for the remainder of the season.
For paddle boat and canoe rentals please go the Park Store located in the main park at the entrance of the campground.

You must be at least 18 years of age to rent a boat.
$10.00 deposit required per boat.
Children under age 10 and non-swimmers must wear provided life jackets.
You must have one life jacket per person on the boat regardless if they are required to wear it or not.
Adults do not need to be on the boat with children, however, for children under 12 an adult must be monitoring the child's activity.
Mount Gilead State Park's store at the entrance of the main camping area has the basic necessities on hand for your camping needs. The store also stocks some nice collectables such as mugs, shirts, computer pads, magnets, etc with the park name on them. Stop by and you may find a bargain!

A new bird viewing shelter was dedicated to the memory of "Red" Riel, long-time local resident. The shelter offers a peaceful and interesting view of many Ohio birds, an occasional squirrel or raccoon, and maybe if you are lucky, a Whitetail Deer.
